When I ask any HomePod in my house to play music by an artist or an Album it responds
“I couldn’t find any music by (Artist) in your library”.
I have Apple Music so it should play anything I ask.
It will work if I do it through my iPhone but that’s about it.
So frustrating!
I can ask Siri to “Play happy music” and it will play something.
If I ask Siri to “Play music by Coldplay” (or any other band or album) I get the response I mentioned in my original post.
I have always been able to do it in the past.
I’ve tried doing the reset but that doesn’t seem to work.
In the end I had to remove the HomePod from the home app and reinstall it. It’s fine when you’re doing one but a bit of a pain when you have 5!
seems to be ok now.
A specific artist or album, or do all requests fail? For specific items a possible workaround might be to make a playlist that can more easily be called up on demand.

Try signing out of your Apple ID for Music and Podcasts, then sign in again. It is somewhere in the settings for the HomePod.
