Apple care

Hello I purchased this device two days ago man I bought it from showed me I had Apple care still and that I could use to get the back of the phone fixed due to it being cracked when I purchased it but now it’s saying that I don’t have Apple care so I’m needing to see if I needed to transfer it to this serial number or what’s the case shown below is what the man sent me

I sold a similar device a few years ago. I had to notify Apple of the new owner and his apple user id to transfer the coverage. It's somewhere in the fine print and can ONLY be transferred one time. Here is the proper way to make the transfer.
