Call volume with CarPlay and iPhone 14 Pro

With my recent switch to the 14 Pro, my ability to use CarPlay for calling is severely negative. Same vehicle as before, only the phone has changed. People tell me they can barely hear me on a CarPlay call. This is true across several different callers, both personal and professional.

I apologize if my post is redundant, but I I had a limited window of time to search before returning to work. I found only a post under Bluetooth; which is related only as a workaround or tangent.

Thank you all.

Hi there nickc445,

We want to do everything we can to help get CarPlay working for you, so that you can be heard by others easily. To get started, if at the time of the call you're using any other apps such as Maps for navigation, we'd recommend quitting those apps to determine if the same behavior occurs. This can help to determine if your iPhone is attempting to lower the volume of the call to ensure you hear alerts as they come in.

If it does, the troubleshooting outlined here can also resolve what's happening: If you need help with CarPlay

If the behavior persists, we'd recommend reaching out to Apple directly for additional troubleshooting assistance. They'd be the best hands possible to assist you moving forward. You can reach them using: Apple Support

We hope that helps!
