I'm hoping there will be a fix for this soon. When I place a call using CarPlay, the call recipient can barely hear me. Connecting via Bluetooth works fine, but no on Apple CarPlay. It's wired CarPlay, and not wireless CarPlay. Is there a workaround until this is fixed?
I did not have this issue with my iPhone 11 with 16.0.2 installed.
16.0.3 is out and fixes the issue

Looking over If you need help with CarPlay - Apple Support, this recommends starting with making sure your have the latest iOS version, and you can do so following: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support. If you follow the rest of the steps, and this does not help, you'll want to follow up with Apple Support

I have been having the exact same issue and it is very frustrating!! Every time I make a call using CarPlay the recipient can't hear me and I have to unplug the phone and re-connect via bluetooth (which works fine). It's very distracting to do this while driving and then I can't access CarPlay for navigation/etc while on the call.
