MacBook Air charger shows green then goes back to orange

New MacBook with M2. Charges and cable shows green. If it stays connected the charger cable shows orange again. What's up?

That seems to describe normal behavior. Green means it's connected and communicating properly. Orange means it's charging or on hold. Flashing means something may be amiss.
