Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities, Alferatt,

To get started addressing the issue with your macOS Mail signature, we'd like to see if we can replicate the issue in two different scenarios, safe mode and a new user. Each will allow us to isolate and troubleshoot the issue, and may even resolve the issue completely on their own:

  1. Start with safe mode using the guidance in How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support. In addition to explaining how to boot your computer into safe mode, this resource will also explain in detail why it can be helpful. For example, safe mode runs a scan of your disk during startup, and if it identifies an issue tries to resolve it.
  2. If the issue is present after safe mode, try a new user account: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support. This can help isolate the issue by letting us know if it is occurring only in your user account. If so, this would mean the issue might be related to software or settings specific to your user account.

If you still need help after this, don't hesitate to respond back.

Best!

verbcrunch,

Here is a solution (at least its working so far) I got from an Apple Support chat yesterday:

Quit mail > go into System Settings > press (NAME) > click iCloud > click iCloud Drive > Options > scroll down until you see Mail > turn it off > add signature > quit Mail > open iCloud drive Options again > turn on Mail > Signature should stay.

Let us know if that works for you also.

I solved the "no signature" issue after noticing on some email accounts the signature still worked. So I deleted the no signature account from my mail app, then recreated it from scratch, works fine now.

Mac Mail is still really buggy in other ways though. I have to quit the app when mail becomes frozen - I can't click / drag / move the mail into different folders. Upon relaunch it's fine again for awhile.

Hi rey55.

I tried the solution you indicate but it only works if the option is kept off.

In my case, the Mail option in iCloud was active and deactivating it solves the problem, then if I activate it again (as indicated in the procedure) the initial problem appears again.

It is very disappointing that Apple does not have an official solution to the problem.

Hi Mingoslkd,

I tried all the possible solutions I found on the internet and the one that Lindsay_B proposes, but there is no solution that works.

Unfortunately, when I took the laptop to Apple Support, they couldn't give me a solution, it just occurred to them to delete the machine and install it again (which I did several times), at the end they recommended me to wait for the release of OSVentura and try the new one. I did that and yesterday I have installed everything from scratch but the problem has not been solved.

Not receiving an official response and solution from Apple is really disappointing, it makes clear the brand's interest in its customers. They care more about sales than user experience.

Hello Lindsay, thanks for your answer, but It didn't help.

I tried both options but the problem is not solved.

I first reinstalled the OS from scratch, wiping the drive completely and entering my iCloud username.

After that the problem continued. Then I followed your instructions.

  1. I try to boot in safe mode. it asked me for the access password twice and after the second time the safe mode is automatically deactivated and it starts as normal mode. I tried to do it 3 times and the same thing always happened.
  2. Then create a new user but this didn't fix the problem either.

I looking over internet to find some solution but can't find one. Its very annoying.

Same thing. Updated new MacBook to Ventura OS and ever since Monterey OS on my iMac has this mail signature issue and is unable to synch Safari (eg bookmarks) between my iMac and MacBook. It should be noted here that my iMac is a late 2015 manufactured date and there are online indications that it will not update to the new Ventura OS. Will this be corrected Apple, or are you forcing everyone to buy new iMacs?

I'm having the same issue. Upgraded to Monterey and my logo image is not showing up in my email signature. Did troubleshooting from many sites and nothing fixes the issue. The email signature still works on my computers that I haven't upgraded to Monterey. Any solution to this yet?

Also, how in the world has Apple not addressed making email signatures easier on a Mac?! Unbelievably backwards.

I installed Monterey on my 2018 MacBook when it became available and experienced NO Mail issues. I bought a new MacBook last week and can't get the signatures to save, no matter what I do. I've tried everything in this thread, and nothing works. I find it hard to believe that something so simple can't be fixed quickly, and also can't believe that I don't have this issue on my old MacBook but I do have it on my new one.
