Mas OS El Capitan

I have an iMac 21" mid 2010 running OSX 10.11.6 - my mail keeps quitting unexpectedly - running OK on my iPad and iPhone

Upgrade to macOS High Sierra:

How to download macOS - Apple Support.

Upgrading will solve the mail compatibility issue.

Hello Jack - thank you for your speedy response. I was extremely nervous about upgrading especially as this OS was not recommended in my upgrade pattern. I was also concerned about backing up my Mac but in the end 'bit the bullet' and upgraded without any issues. Most importantly my email is back up and running so thank you so much for your advice!
