Change phone number for Two Factor Verification

I am going to have to change my cell phone number. However I will not know the number until T-mobile actually does the change. So how do I do that if my first number is deleted and the new one is put in service. I will probably get myself locked out of my account because of the two factor verification calls the wrong number?

First … 2FA sends verification codes to ALL of your Trusted DEVICES via DATA … it doesn’t care what your mobile phone number is as it’s NOT normally using SMS at all.

Next … Trusted NUMBERS are OTHER voice OR SMS numbers where you CAN selectively choose to receive 2FA codes IF you don’t have access to any of your Trusted Devices.

(i.e. These are effectively your backup numbers; they only receive the code when you SPECIFICALLY send it to THAT number during an authentication session)

Finally … you can edit / update ALL of the above at https://appleid.apple.com/.
