Macbook no TV sound from HDMI

Macbook: no TV sound from HDMI (Video is fine)

Seems to be pretty recent... sound used to go to TV fine too.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.6

Go to System Preferences->Sound->Output, and make sure the Tv is selected as the output.

Restart MacBook - sound OK Anyone have any idea why, after connecting MacBook to TV through Digital AV Multiport/HDMI cable, sound does not work on MacBook until after a reboot?
