AirPlay doesn't work.

"No usable data found" when scanning QR code. It's infuriating how expensive Apple products are and how often they just fail to work. I shouldn't have to scour the Internet to find out why the "Set Up HomeKit" function doesn't work (mainly because it should just work). That's shouldn't even need to scan anything. I've both devices on the same network! Why am I scanning a blasted code?

Please, someone! Help me make this work.

Hello uaquo,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Just to clarify, are you getting this error when you use the camera on your iPhone or iPad to scan the QR code on the accessory you're trying to add to the Home app? Which iPhone or iPad model are you using, and what is the OS version installed on your device? Settings > General > About.

To get started, let's make sure you meet these requirements:

Before you add an accessory
1-Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
2-Make sure that your accessory is powered on and nearby.
3-Check the accessory's manual to see if it needs additional hardware to work with HomeKit.

We hope this information is useful. Kind regards.
