Apple TV Remote app not controlling volume after update?

Just a heads up to any searching for this. If you’re iPhone volume buttons just recently stopped controlling your TV/Soundbar CEC/ARC setup, go to settings>remotes & devices>Remote App & Devices>then hold your phone near your Apple TV while on this screen to re-pair it to the Apple TV. Once you see it listed on the screen full volume button control will work again with your iPhone side buttons.

Hope this helps anyone else going crazy like I was!

iPhone remote app no volume control So I updated to iOS 16 and can no longer control my Apple TV‘s volume using the iPhone remote app. My Onkyo stereo system worked with the remote for years. Now it simply doesn’t work. There are no volume icons that appear when using the remote app. Example pressing the up or down buttons only shows the phones volume not the Apple TV volume. The stereo is set up correctly in Apple TV.

iOS 16 broke volume up down in remote with Apple TV. Since updating Apple TV 4K and iPhones to latest versions the remote app in the IPhone can no longer control volume up and down. Have toggled settings on and off in the Apple TV. And restarted everything.
