Does rubbing alcohol work to remove the bitterant on the CR2032 battery replacement for AirTags?
Isopropyl Alcohol works to take the bitterant off the surface of the CR 2032 batteries. Put the alcohol on a paper towel, rub lightly, let it dry. In Oct. 2022, Costco is selling a 10-pack of Duracell CR2032.

Yes, it works fine as long as you rub all the surface including the edges. I have also used lens wipes successfully. Always make sure you get the audible signal when replacing cover. Otherwise, clean further until you do. Test with FindMy afterwards to make sure it is active.

I tried Hydrogen Peroxide on a paper towel and it worked too.
