aol email going to trash instead of inbox

First you'll want to identify if the problem is coming from the Mail app on your iPhone or from the actual email account. Go to your email providers website, log in and check your account there. Are all of the items in the trash there? If so, then the problem is coming from the email account. You may have some sort of filtering or forwarding set up in your account.

If your inbox is normal through your email providers website, then that would mean the issue is coming from the Mail app on the iPhone. If that's the case, you'll want to remove the account and re-add it.

1. "On your device, go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
2. Tap the email account that you want to remove.
3. Tap Delete Account.
4. Add your account again."
