Existing IWatch cannot pair to new iPhone

Just got my new iPhone, but forgot to unpair existing iWatch and old fone. Now don’t have access to iWatch settings and iPhone keeps unpairing iWatch on its own. iPhone is updated. Also tried restarting iWatch but end up with unpairing. Any suggestions?
