iPhone 5G software update

I had an extensive chat w apple support.

Some iPhones in India like 13 pro are yet to get 5G support. See iPhone - Supported 5G and LTE networks - Apple (IN)

Disappointing to say the least.

That's new to me. To my knowledge, a 5G connection depends on the hardware (Apple supports 5G on iPhone model 12, 13, 14 series) and/or on the cellular carrier services/updates using the appropriate SIM card (not on the iOS versions).

Are you using a physical SIM card or an eSIM provided by a cellular carrier who can offer 5G network connection service?

Since your model 13 hardware supports that kind of connection, what do you mean for "not supported software update"? what "software update" are you talking about?

Have you contacted your cellular carrier, explaining your problem?

Airtel, one of the Cellular operators in India states that while my iPhone 13 is 5G “Ready”, 5G software has not been provided yet by Apple. Don’t understand why Apple should take this long to provide the software.

very disappointed about software update for iPhone from your end for india. Since 2020 5g enabled cells getting sold. Still no way to start.

it’s really hurting my pocket now knowing this as I feel I was cheated all this extremely disappointed now.

Where does Bloomberg report show any problem with Indian infrastructure? Airtel clearly states that they are in talks with Apple to release the 5G software. Let Apple deny it. Why are you speculating? India provides IT infrastructure to the World- just in case you do not know.

I think, he means os is yet to be upgraded to support 5G

But having hardware doesn’t mean anything, unless software knows how to use or leverage the hardware in a specific intended way.

Yes. More disappointment since one doesn’t expect Apple to let down its customers!

He is not talking abou USA, 5G launched in India recently and apple said they’ll launch a software for the 5G bands in India
