Apple Watch Ultra Cellular Issue Bluetooth Must Be Off

lets say that my iPhone battery died, but I’m using Apple Watch Ultra to communicate with my family and friends using built-in cellular technology (AT&T).

The only way my watch will connect to cellular, if my watch’s Bluetooth is off. Only then I’m able to connect to cellular to receive phone calls or exchange imessage communication.

The problem is that when I turn off Bluetooth, then I cannot connect to EarPods/headphones. I’d have to bring my watch to my mouth and use the watch speaker to speak to my friends and family.

Turning off Bluetooth is an inconvenience because I won’t be able to listen to music, or attend phone calls on EarPods.

Is there a fix to this issue?

I do not have that problem with my Ultra. If I am away from my phone with BT and wifi still on cellular works fine.

Are there any other BT signal that could be causing the problem?

You can try a forced restart of the watch :

  • Depress and hold the crown and side button until the Apple logo appears. Nothing is lost

Next would be to unpair the watch and re setup the watch. Sometimes setting up as new works better than restoring from backup
