Grapher : Black Equation Text

I use Grapher a lot, but it still suffers from a lot of annoying bugs.

The main one is that Grapher still displays formulae with black text on a black background when in Dark mode, making it impossible to edit equations.

This was first reported before 2019, and many times since - but the problem is still there.

Apple hasn't responded to the many posts on this topic, other than to provide a link to

Product Feedback - Apple

Does anyone have a solution for this - other than switching to Light mode ?

Many thanks :)

Hi DialaBrain,

Thanks for your super-fast reply :)

When you launch Grapher it often (not always) works OK for a while,

then the text turns black once you complete a few edits - like this.

If you look *really* hard, you can just make out the text in the equation entry box.

I'm running 12.6 on M1 and Grapher v2.7.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions on how to fix this :)

I just used the 3D 'Gradient' template and added my own formulae.

I'm not sure whether the OS or platform makes a difference, because users have been looking for a solution to this problem since way before Monterey or M1.

By a 'few' - I mean enough edits to compose a fairly simple formula like the ones below - and fiddle with a few of the variables.
