Facebook messenger won't load on my IPad pro . I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it but it still wont load. Did anyone else have this problem?

Make sure both FB and Messenger apps are deleted. Then go and load Messenger *first*. Check and make sure that’s functional. Then go back and reload FB. The order that this is done seems to be the important thing. Once I followed this particular order, my Messenger loaded like a charm.

I had this problem, but I have found the answer, delete the actual Facebook app, then load up messenger, worked for me. Then re-install Facebook

Try deleting both and THEN reload messenger without Facebook. Check to see that it opens ….then reload Facebook. ( You will have to sign into your messenger account first.)

Hope that works! Apple support says lots of people are calling in regarding Facebook’s messenger.

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details? What is your exact iPadOS version? Are you able to load other app? Also, have you reached out to the developer?

Thank you so very much. I had deleted messenger and reinstalled it and that did not work for me but seeing that you deleted Facebook and then installed messenger and then reinstalled Facebook that worked for me also!

Remove both messenger and Facebook then reinstall messenger. It should open for you….then reinstall Facebook. In other words, reinstall messenger without Facebook first. Hope this helps…. Let me know!

I had the same issue. I uninstalled the Facebook app and Messenger. Reinstall the Facebook app first and then messenger. It worked for me. Good luck.

Glen this worked for me, thanks! Mine just started when I did a complete reset of my iPad.

My messenger is also not working on iPad. My iPhone works fine.

Please can you advise how to fix as I have tried all of the above and I still have a white screen and a whirling small black circle in the middle of the screen.

This happened prior to updating to 16.1.1, I then updated as I thought this may fix the error, sadly not.

Agree nothing works to open app
