Did you just update your device?

Troubleshooting Automatic iPad Name Renewal:

A. Delete a VPN:

A VPN is a common a culprit for IP address renewals (DHCP). So, disconnect from the VPN and then proceed from there.

B. Clear Temporary Internet Files:

C. Report this to Apple:

Do your part: Let Apple know what is going on here. Provide them with feedback on this. They may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they received on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed in updates to come.

2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: on when the issue began, and how you have troubleshot it this far. Include the URL of this thread.
4. Proceed from there a necessary

Not Sure. Have you tried changing it to something other than what it has been before? Is this intermittent? Is this not YOUR iPhone? If this has Screen Time enabled, then this might be disallowed. Or it may be a bug in the latest update.

If your device is managed by your work or school, they can enforce that a name set in their management software be reapplied on a regular interval.
