Nothing has changed on my setup. I can confirm CEC is enabled through connected chain (TV to Receiver). AppleTV/RemotesAndDevices/HomeTheaterControl/ControlReceivers = Yes (On)
Indicator light on AppleTV blinks with all functions other than volume control from phone. Both iPhone and AppleTV running on iOS16 (newest available).
Apple Team, please help. Super annoying to lose this functionality.
I contacted apple support out of frustration a few weeks ago and they informed me it was a known bug (as suspected). That being said, they fixed it in the latest iOS update.
So, update your phone, update AppleTV software, restart both and should be good to go.
