Why does Apple never recognise my or Mac or browser when I use them all the time?

Every time I need to sign in to anything Apple related (and I think maybe even Google related such as Chrome) both my MacBook and Mac mini are never recognised. I ALWAYS have to have a verification code sent. It then works.

Also, the stupid thing when it's Apple, is it sends it to the computer that I'm using. Not even via email, just directly onto the screen of the computer, so if it's not trusted, what difference will that make?

Cheers.

Mac mini, macOS 11.6

If you have 2 Factor Authentication enabled on your Apple ID, whenever you sign into your ID, a verification code is required.

If it is sending the code to the computer screen, that indicates the computer is a trusted device.
