2020 M1 MacBook Air display issue

I opened up my computer this morning to my screen having a bunch of weird horizontal and vertical lines, leaving images on the screen even when switched to a different view, and some areas shaded more white than others. The photo is static but the lines are spazzing out in a rhythmic dance. I've been having off and on display problems for the past 8 months but every time I put the machine to sleep and they went away, never have have I had anything like this. I have restarted the machine, let it sit for a few hours and then restarted it. I have updated to the lastest version of Mac Os. Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it? Or should I take it in to the Apple Store?
