HomePod Original) is not responding

When my wife walked past the HomePod with her iPhone a couple of weeks ago, the Home app popped up and asked if she wanted to connect/pair her iPhone to the HomePod. She said yes and made the pairing. Now the HomePod is no longer on my Home apps. I removed the HomePod from her Home app, unplugged the HomePod for 10 sec and replugged it. After it rebooted, it game the deep melodic sound and the white light at the top of the HomePod began pulsing...and pulsing...and pulsing. I try to add the HomePod to my Home app (on both my iPhone 11 Pro and my MBA 2020...both are literally next to the HomePod). The HomePod won't be discovered. I've tried doing the reset but no response.

Before this, the HomePod was playing music but wouldn't respond to me or my devices. That's when I discovered that it was paired to my wife's Home app on her iPhone and iPad.

I had just upgraded my iPhone to iOS 16.0.3. My MBA is running macOS 12.6

I'm able to go back with my wife's iPad and set up the HomePod on her Home app. But, I got her a HomePod mini and want to access the HomePod for my own use.

It doesn't let me do that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

BTW...HomePod dosent' come up as a choice for my devices
