Sometimes, especially on weekends, I take unplanned naps. Does my Apple Watch Series 7 record my sleep data if I inadvertently fall asleep?

Apple Watch not tracking sleep data? Hi, I recently bought an Apple Watch and am hoping to also use it to track my sleep. I haven’t had any luck with actually getting it to do so. I can’t see it as a data source in Sleep, either — see screenshot. Can I get some advice on how to fix this? Thank you!

No. Apple watch tracks sleep per a schedule you set up. See this --> Track your sleep on Apple Watch and use Sleep on iPhone – Apple Support (UK)
