Fitness App - Unable to remove friend
Hi! My mother and I got Apple Watches at the same time so we could use the fitness functionalities together. We used the competition function for about 9 months and then one day it just stopped. No data is shared, no competitions can be started, no activity/notifications can be muted. Whenever trying to use any of the sharing functions, it shows an error. For example, when trying to remove myself as a friend from my mother’s iPhone, it says ‘Error removing ____ as a friend’ (or something very similar). I have tried a couple of times in the past to fix it but to no avail. Today I sat down with both watches and iPhones and tried the following fixes I found in previous discussion on here.
- Both watches were updated to watchOS 9
- Both iPhones were updated to iOS 16
- Since my iPhone is able to remove and add friends, I focused on the iPhone with the issue. I powered off both the watch and phone at the same time and opened the phone first, still didn’t work.
- I unpaired and paired the watch with the phone again.
the only thing I haven’t done is completely reset the watch, but the error is the same on the activity apps of both the watch and the iPhone, so that wouldn’t make a difference.
Any ideas on what to do?
