How to turn off Strong Password Suggestions on iPhone

I've read through several forums but haven't found a straight answer. I like the way Safari auto fills my passwords whenever I'm visiting a known site. But I do not like the "strong Password suggestion" is there a way to remove the suggestion option? I'd hate to stop using Safari for this issue, not only is it time consuming when you're in a rush but also it'll tend to make my iPhone lag whenever I'm selecting from the options. (iPhone 14 Pro Max too) I know it might be an iOS 16 glitch but still, I need this to be an option. Stop forcing us to use features we do not wish, make them options please.

What a pain in the *** strong password is when signing up. I should be able to choose a password without my iPhone taking over whether I have auto fill turned on or off. iPhone shouldn’t try to auto fill when creating a brand new sign. It’s a dumb smart phone. Leave it to apple to break something that didn’t need to be improved.

HUGE PROBLEM. My elderly mother keeps getting locked out of her accounts because of this. I got ) stuck on a screen for DOD login... my password is saved but Apple dropped in a strong password (I was not trying to change it. I had to reset my password 3 times... Here is the kicker. I went to Chrome and had no problems. Grrrrrr

Apple PLEASE FIX THIS

It is actually. You can turn the feature right back on after you turn it off. The problem that I was having was every time I attempted to type in my own password, the second password field would cause the “strong password” feature to active and erase my original password. Therefore blocking me from entering a password. You don’t have to keep the Keychain off, but if you want your phone to stop prompting you with the “strong password” feature, that will do the trick.

yes, PLEASE Apple — simply add a preference/setting which allows the user to change the default for password creation. i ALWAYS use my own. while you're at it, how about creating a modern day "MacPaint", simply call it "Paint" for the "rest of us" who don't wish to subscribe to Adobe Photoshop. to many of us, it seems crazy to not offer a Paint app which originally introduced us to Macintosh.

well, i guess i'm just hoping to spread the idea for a MacPaint redux. the more Mac users get turned on to the idea, the more clamoring for it might ensue. so i just decided that every time i post on an Apple forum, and/or communicate with an Apple rep (say even for iPhone support), i plan to pimp the idea... and really, it's a GREAT idea! ... come on, admit you like it! ;-)

regarding generating secure passwords, sure, it's a nice option. however, i developed my own pw system which always yields a "strong" or "very strong" rating, and i can remember them. either way, i personally remain convinced that such default options should always be available as a preference/setting... and it's not really complicated to do, yes?

looked at it. can't figure out a use for it yet, but i'll keep trying. also can't find a paintbrush, or even many of the things MacPaint had, let alone many of the capabilities other basic paint apps have. kind of odd Apple calls it "Freeform" when there doesn't seem to be a freeform painting tool... unless they have hidden it somewhere...? but i'm glad someone likes it! 8-)

That’s great as long as you don’t frequent websites (military) and others that are finicky and have extra layers of protection. Apple doesn’t recognize the formats and it automatically populates a password suggestion and saves it. Also try have an elderly person trying to make or save password. Until you experience it you won’t understand. Everyone isn’t equipped for this tech behavior. If one can’t make their own secure passwords that’s a personal issue.

That’s my opinion.

I have complained to Apple.
