Read this link from Apple, which clearly says you can swim with your watch --> Swim with your Apple Watch - Apple Support
Do know that Apple does not guarantee your watch is waterproof. It is water resistant, so if the seals on your watch leak and water gets inside the watch, it won't be replaced by Apple under warranty.
