Is there a time limit for swimming Apple Watch 8
I saw that there was a 30min limit for putting the Apple Watch in the pool. Is this true? I usually swim for 1hr. Will this break my watch?

I can't find any time limit on information under "Swim with your Apple Watch" - Apple Support. I regularly swim for 40 - 45 minutes in local pool using "Pool Swim" workout using my series 4 (now coming up for 4 years old) with no issues. So your series 8 should be fine if you follow the guidelines (no diving in?). I think it was only the series 1 that wasn't water resistant for swimming.
