My phone service won’t work my SIM card works

My phone service won’t work without updating to iOS 15.7 but when I try to update it, it says I need internet to update but I don’t have internet because I need to update it please help

Remove your SIM card from the SIM card tray and then put the SIM card back. ... Make sure that the SIM tray closes completely and isn't loose. If you use a SIM tray from a different model iPhone, iPad, or from another phone manufacturer, it might not fit properly.

It's not telling you to update the operating system, it's telling you to update your carrier settings.

You should also charge it to over 50% and turn off Low Power Mode. You will need to do this when you are ready to update the iOS.
