Macbook pro m1 8gb yellow ram pressure

Hi, i bought macbook pro m1 with 8gb ram and 512gb ssd.

when i open applications like docker, intellij, vscode, safari with several tabs, apple music, memory pressure goes yellow. There are no performance issues and no memory swap or rarely up to 1gb.

does using macbook at yellow memory usage all the time consume its lifespan?

thanks.

using RAM up to the yellow zone will cause your Mac to compress items already in memory and discard previously-read files (a potential speedup which will be lost to you). It will not harm your computer.

If you push farther, and especially if you launch another App, Virtual Memory will spill out of real memory onto the boot drive, and show as "swap used". This can cause your Mac to slow down.

None of these will cause long term damage to your computer. But they will generate additional heat, and require additional fan cooling, and use up additional battery when on battery.

Macs should generally be operated in the green zone, and most Macs are operating well in the green zone. Using it in the yellow zone at all times is not recommended, because you have no path for growth. It appears you did not obtain enough computer to satisfy the ways you want to use it.

You may need to adjust how many apps and windows you are using at once, or obtain a computer that better meets your needs.
