My Photos app is crashing when I click the import button! Its been very hard this process.
When I try to import another entire library, the app just crashes.
I really need to merge them!

How large is the library you are trying to import? How much free storage do you have on your Mac?
What is the error message in the crash report?
You may want to check, if the crash only happens for this particular library or for any library. Can you import a small library, created just for testing, with only a single jpeg in it?
If the crashes are only happening for your particular library, try to import from this library in smaller parts. You could duplicate the library to be imported and delete from the copy all but the first thousand photos or so. Then try to import from the smaller copy.
Creating copies with smaller subsets will help to weed out problematic items in the library. The older library may contain a damaged photo or video, or in a format, that can no longer be processed. Such gems need to be removed.
