IMEI does NOT identify a carrier or an association with a carrier. IMEI is International Mobile Equipment Identity and is unique to your device and it only identifies your device on a network.

To find out whether the iPhone is locked to a carrier / network, open Settings ➡️ General ➡️ About ➡️ Carrier Lock: Here, if it states “No SIM Restrictions” then it is an unlocked iPhone. If there a carrier / network name listed, then the iPhone is locked to that carrier.
