I get an unrecognized file type when trying to upload photos to my mac

There were some old file formats that support for file types went away after Mojave.

You can use Apple app Compressor app to fix these files.


There is a knowledge base HT for this too.


I think iMovie has a compatible file format check too. It might convert non supported files to H.264 and save the old files in a folder too.
