dmg file install

Trying to launch audacity.dmg file when Adobe reader launches with error message of can't recognize the file. How can I launch dmg file?

iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021, 2 ports)

That's odd. Select the dmg file, press command+i, change "Open with:" to Archive Manager, then click the "Change All…" button.

A .dmg file is a disk image. You mount it by dbl-clicking on it.

Sorry, was thinking about something else. Change "Open with:" to DiskImageMounter.

I double clicked on the audacity dmg file, when I do this Adobe Reader launched with an error message that it cannot open the file. Therefore the dmg file does not open.
