It should. It was released on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 & Lion 10.7. El Capitan is OS X 10.11 I have CS6 running on High Sierra 10.13.6, no problems. Back in the timeframe CS6 was released, Macs were either Core2Duo, i3, i5 or i7.
