I am unable to see notifications regarding how many unread emails I have. I have all notifications selected, I get my banners etc. I have restarted iPhone as well.
I had recently started using an Apple Watch & believe that’s when I was no longer seeing a number of unread messages. See screenshot, any help appreciated

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. First, let's make sure that Do Not Disturb wasn't inadvertently enabled for that app. Go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb, and check that the Mail app is not listed in "Allow Notifications" under "Apps". Get more info on that here:

Please go to Settings > Notifications > Mail. Do you have it configured to receive the notifications and badges? If these are setting up, so that you can receive notifications and badges for Mail, then we recommend you contact Apple Support here: Apple Support
