My MacBook Pro won't update to the latest macOS version
my macbook won't update to the latest version. how can i get my macbook to update? I've done it manually as well and no updates will pop up

The model year of a MacBook Pro is available at Apple menu > About This Mac.

My model is the El Capitan, I just bought it. But I’ve updated it to the version it needs but will not let me download apps on it because it’s telling me to update my laptop to the latest version
