I need to request another apple id

I need to request a new apple id. It says my ipod has been creating new apple ids and I can't set up Facetime a

and imessage. So how do I fix that?

iOS 16.1.1 won’t let me sign in to a different Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime When I go into iMessage settings -> send & receive -> tap the link with my Apple ID -> select sign out. Then I tap Use your Apple ID for iMessage -> Use Other Apple ID, and after 5 seconds it just signs me into the same Apple ID the phone is using. How can I fix this? I tried signing out of both iMessage and FaceTime, turning off the phone and waiting 30 seconds but it’s still not working. The phone is brand new, no apps installed yet.

Apple id Using an iPhone 14plus and my husband on an iPhone XS I need to create a separate apple id for him as being 'tied at the hip' in his words is just becoming too complicated and it is difficult to use Facetime when away.
