iphone12 starts and stops charging while using it at the same time, with 5g ultra wide band on. All ports are clear of debris.
I discovered by changing to my Apple Watch charger that it will charge while using it. It’s because there’s more amps, more power being supplied to phone with a more powerful charger. Unless I’m mistaken even one LTE it won’t charge while I’m using at the same time.

Your phone probably needs at least a 12 watt power source to charge while you are using it, such as an Apple iPad charger. The older 5 watt “cube” charger cannot supply enough power to charge while using the phone. The ideal power source is either a 15 Watt MagSafe wireless charger or an 18 (or higher) watt USB-C power source.

Before buying another charger, try blowing into both the charging ports of the phone and the charging cable. I almost bought a new cable then decided to blow air into both the cable and the phone ports. And it worked. At least for me. Hopefully this will work for you. Maybe its dust that got in there.
If that doesn't work then you may have to buy a new cable to make sure your cable wasn't the issue.
