Connecting the HDMI port on a TV to my Apple laptop Bluetooth 4 port

I have converted several thousand 35 mm slides to jpeg files. I would like to view them on my TV. Is there an adaptor which would accept a male HDMI cable from the TV and enable me to plug a male Bluetooth 4 cable into my Mac laptop? My older MacBook Pro laptop has an HDMI port, which would bypass this problem, but the HDMI port does not exist on the new MacBook Air, for example, which has two Bluetooth 4 ports.

Does it still make sense to store these files on the equivalent of a flash drive? Are some more reliable than others?
