Can a lost iPhone still be found if it isn't showing on Find My?

I purchased 2 iPhones at the same time. One for me and one for my grandson. I have AppleCare loss and theft and he has AppleCare +. He lost or misplaced his phone a couple of hours ago. He is not on my Find My list. Can his phone still be found?

Use any internet browser and log into www.icloud.com/find using his Apple ID & password.
