does Catalina support iPhone running iOS X 16

I just got an iPhone 12 pro from one of my children. I backup/synch my current phone (iPhone XS) to a MacBook pro mid 2012 running Catalina 10.15.7. iPhone XS is running iOS x 15.6. restoring from a backup does not complete to iPhone 12 running 15.6. Is IOS X 16 supported to synch with Catalina. I have been burned in the past by version compatibility and Apple support can only say they think it will work. Does anyone know what iOS x 16 compatibility is?

ios set the macOS version and new phones come with ios16

Apple ID (required for some features)
Internet access15
Syncing to a Mac or PC requires:
macOS Catalina 10.15 or later using the Finder
macOS El Capitan 10.11.6 through macOS Mojave 10.14.6 using iTunes 12.8 or later
Windows 7 or later using iTunes 12.10.10 or later (free download from itunes.com/download)

Rudegar, Thank you very much. Not only did you answer my question, but you showed me how to find the answer. I never thought to look at the Tech Specs document. To be honest, I did not know one existed. It is baffling to me that Apple Support people would not have thought of it either.
