CarPlay and Maps

Once I am connected to Carplay, I cannot bring up the map view on the iPhone. Is there any way to change this?

Thanks for responding! The problem is that the head unit in my van faces directly forward, and thus is difficult for me to see clearly while driving, whereas I have my phone mounted at an angle that makes it easy to see when I need to see the routing. It would be helpful to be able to switch the written directions (which is what shows on the phone) with the map, when necessary.

Hello,

This is by design. While in CarPlay, certain features of your iPhone are disabled so you can focus on the road. You can still use Maps through the CarPlay-compatible interface in your car.
