Display settings revert to variable refresh rate every reboot
Hi,
I have 3 DELL S3221QS Monitors that support variable refresh rate. They're connected to a Mac Pro (2019) with a Radeon Pro W5700X.
When VRR is enabled, however, they flicker. That's why I want to turn it off in the settings (and just always run 60hz). The problem is that every time I boot the Mac, the setting reverts to 40-60hz and I need to open settings, select each of the monitors individually and set them to 60hz. There is no setting to disable VRR on the monitor side.
I'm on macOS 12.6 and the monitors are on firmware M2C103.
I even installed BootCamp to do a firmware update for all three monitors (that was only available through Windows) and the problem persists.
I called Apple support and they said it's an issue with the monitors and I should contact DELL. I called DELL support and they said it's an issue with MacOS and I should contact Apple.
So I'm stuck here. Unless I buy Apple monitors or a DELL PC to get support for the entire issue?...
All I want is that the 60hz setting persists after reboot. The Other settings (resolution, monitor position, color depth...) also persist.
Mac Pro, macOS 12.5
