Blocking Youtube from icloud backup

I am trying to block Youtube so that my grandchild cannot download and open it. In the APP store Youtube shows the cloud symbol and my grandchild taps and downloads. I have deleted apps and removed them from the icloud backup, and then run backup to ensure the app is not on my list. However, when I go to run a test in the App store it is still there with the cloud symbol. How do I block Youtube?

Hello halodude1525,

The best way to prevent apps from being downloaded is to require a password for any App Store purchase.

You can do that by following these steps from Require a password for App Store and iTunes purchases:

Require a password on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap your name.
3. Tap Media & Purchases.
4. Tap Password Settings, then choose the setting that you want.

If you don't see Password Settings, you have turned on Face ID or Touch ID for App Store and iTunes Purchases. To change this, go back to Settings, tap "Face ID & Passcode" or "Touch ID & Passcode", then turn off Face ID or Touch ID next to iTunes & App Store.

These steps will prevent you grandchild from being able to add apps, even that are "Free".

Have a good day.
