Only the carrier can unlock the phone. Contact them to see if this is possible. Note that the carrier is under no obligation to remove the lock......and.....they will likely ask you for proof of ownership of the phone. Saying that bought the phone off a girl is probably not going to fly.
Best to have the girl remove the carrier lock for you, or simply return the phone for a refund.
