When trying to wipe my iMac using command- r i receive this error code after it tries booting. -1006f

I work for a school and need to wipe an iMac from the bootup for a teacher to use and as I am trying to use the disk utility option upon boot I met with this error. I wanted to know how can I make it around this? -1006F

Go to > If your Mac doesn't start up all the way - Apple Support


Scroll down to Globe with Warning Symbol and follow the direction in that link.
