Not all photos showing when attaching to email. In preferences, "Use as System Photo Library" is greyed out. My OS is Mac Monterey 12.6.

How do I ensure that photos are saved as jpegs rather than heics so they can be used across systems? Or can heics be used across systems?

New Mac Systems are annoyingly less user friendly than past ones. Apple seems to be slowly and inexorably sliding down the Microsoft hill....

That means the Library is the System Library.

You can convert a heic to jpeg simply by exporting it as a Jpeg. File -> Export. If the are coming from your phone you can avoid them altogether by setting you phone to shoot egg, or maximum compatibility.

These things are quite simple, but technology advances and it sometimes requires a little learning.
