As shown in the attached screenshot, my phone recently stopped charging at 80%, and the message says, “Charging was on hold due to iPhone temperature.” The phone wasn’t in direct sunlight or in a particularly hot environment when this happened. It was charging with the original cable and adapter. Battery Health shows as “Normal,” and Low Power Mode is off. Has anyone else experienced this? Could this be related to Optimized Battery Charging or something else? Any suggestions on how to prevent this or if it’s something I should be concerned about? When you fast charge the phone gets very warm. It may pause at 80% to allow the phone to cool down. It will resume when the phone reaches a safe temperature.

Wait for it to cool off. Usually less than an hour. Or don’t fast charge it.
