So I got locked out of my new I Mack from password attempts...it wouldnt do anything even after I reset my Apple ID password...here’s the thing on my I pad it shows my I Mac logged in but when I put in password says “my account is locked”

Reset it using the login screen. You'd go through your Apple ID to perform this. Find out more here: If you Forgot your Mac Login Password - Apple Support. Make sure that caps lock is not enabled when typing it.
